Cigarette Filters one of the most found pieces of litter found on the ground today... Well recently I have been trying to find a good use for all of them... I believe that I may have found a good use, I have been soaking the cigarette butts in bleach and and soap to get them clean and it has worked, now that they were all nice and clean I decided to try the experiment that I have been working so long to do, and that was to see how well they could clean oil spills out of water... I just did a trial test with a few of the filters that I cleaned today and they absorbed pretty much 100% of the oil I dumped into the water... This was just a small amount I poured into the water and after it was all absorbed it only used a small portion of the butts that I had in the water... If this could be proved to work well then this could eliminate a huge amount of toxic chemicals that these butts leak into the earth... in order to get more people to recycle the butts there has to be a benefit for them to save them, because if you do not offer some sort of perk they will not be recycled...
